Sheikh Alhaji Mohamed Omodu Kamara, popularly known as Jagaban, has pledged NLe 4 billion through his charitable foundation to support women entrepreneurs, religious institutions, and infrastructure projects in Port Loko.
The announcement was made during a large gathering in the city, where Kamara also declared his intention to contest for the All People’s Congress (APC) flagbearer position ahead of the 2026 elections.
His interventions include soft loan schemes for women traders, financial backing for religious groups, and a major contribution towards the construction of a new city hall. The initiatives received strong endorsements from community leaders, political supporters, and ordinary residents.
Kamara, who has long been regarded as a grassroots mobilizer, called for national unity and inclusive development. Religious leaders from both Muslim and Christian communities offered blessings for his vision, praising his integrity and commitment to service.
His declaration sets the stage for what is expected to be a competitive APC flagbearer race as Sierra Leone moves closer to the next general elections.
