Jagaban Donates Le500 Million Towards Multi-purpose Hall in Port Loko

The Global Coordinator for the Jagaban Movement, Mr. Rami Saad, has announced that the All People’s Congress (APC) presidential aspirant, Mr. Mohamed Ormodu Kamara, popularly known as Jagaban, has committed Le1.5 billion towards the construction of a Multi-purpose Hall in Port Loko City. According to him, the project will be implemented in phases, with the first installment of Le500 million (old Leones) officially donated today.

Mr. Saad described Jagaban as a visionary leader and a man of his word, stressing that he remains committed to ensuring the project becomes a reality. He added that Jagaban’s leadership is action-oriented rather than rhetorical, demonstrating his dedication to tangible development initiatives.

Speaking on the purpose of the project, the Mayor of Port Loko City explained that the Multi-purpose Hall was conceived for three main reasons. First, it will contribute to the beautification of the city. Second, it will provide a conducive environment where citizens can gather to discuss community matters, while also offering the youth a much-needed venue for entertainment. Third, upon completion, the facility will be handed over to the Port Loko City Council, creating an avenue for the council to generate revenue in support of city development.

The Mayor further disclosed that the hall will be multi-functional, consisting of a 2,000-capacity main hall, four mini halls, and a market hall, making it a versatile space to serve diverse community needs.

For the youth of Port Loko, the donation has been met with great excitement. Zacharia, a young resident, said he was “extraordinarily happy” about Jagaban’s support. He explained that the facility would have a meaningful impact on the lives of young people, who often face challenges such as limited resources and lack of proper infrastructure. He described the initiative as a self-help project and extended deep appreciation to the donor for addressing a long-standing need in the community.

On behalf of the people of Port Loko, the APC District Chairman also expressed gratitude, describing Jagaban as a “joyful giver” who derives happiness from charitable acts. He commended the donation as a clear demonstration of Jagaban’s commitment to uplifting communities and improving lives.

With this initial contribution, Port Loko City now looks forward to unique developments.
